- I see the back alley abortion storyline is coming to a head. Poor Val, finding out that way that her grandmother was one of the ones doing it. They're doing a good job of showing the way criminalisation of abortions and the lack contraceptive availability for unmarried women can ruin lives.
- The last episode had an incredible range, even outside of the conclusion of the abortion arc -- I'm a bit sad no one ever said outright that abortion should be legal outside of medical emergencies, but I guess there's still a few years to go there. There were some really cute moments with the Buckle family, and Reggie and his girlfriend, and with Miss Higgins and Sergeant Wolf, and then some really tender ones with the teen taking radiotherapy (and her German stepdad as well?) trying to live some life, and the Turners saying goodbye to their foster daughter. I saw it coming, but I was still so glad when it turned out that she couldn't stay with that family, and the Turners drove up to take her back home with them!
