  • Arthur!

    • look at him and also look at him here too

    • Grumpy bastard, trying to do good. Much internal conflict. So morally torn.

    • Things you don’t even have control over are so wholesome? Finding out the ledger you have to get for someone you help is a slave ledger? Burn that shit in his own campfire right in front of him! Beau asks you to convince Penelope to not attend suffrage rally because she’ll get herself killed? Sure, ma’am, I’ll drive your wagon to the rally for you, no problem! You’re a doctor and racist assholes stole your practice wagon? You stay right here I’ll be back!

    • Total sap about Mary Linton a fool, i love him

    • So handsome? When I first saw him on tumblr I was like okay that’s a face, I don’t know what you want me to say about it and the more I saw him there the more I came around like okay maybe I see your point and now I’m straight up swooning every time I see him in a cinematic. I love him someone help me.

  • Friends!

    • I love John Marston, though I never did get around to finished a cut of the first game on youtube for some reason or other. I can’t wait to hear about about him and Arthur, assuming that we do.

    • Also Charles and Lenny! Sean. Tilly, Karen. Sadie, of course. Hell, everyone is growing on me, except maybe Micah.

    • Little Jack Marston! Taking him fishing! He makes a flower necklace for his mother! He finds a dog in camp and the dog is also cute as hell and we keep him, this child is a personal attack on me!

  • Story!

    • The (short and) snowy opening of chapter one was very pretty, and I particularly enjoyed saving John (and Arthur griping about it) and hunting with Charles.

    • Chapter two stuff!

      • I too dislike the debt collection side missions as much as Arthur does, for much the same reasons.

      • Stealing sheep with John was pretty adorable.

      • And the last mission, saving the german family before finding the new camp was particularly touching.

      • I left Micah in jail for as long as I possibly could, I can’t believe I had to shoot up half the damn town after getting him out.

      • Getting drunk with Lenny was fun, as was getting into a fight in a later mission.

    • Playing chapter three currently.

      • I really enjoyed playing messenger between Beau and Penelope, which I hope ends better than Romeo and Juliet did.

      • The bank job was more enjoyable than I expected, even if I accidentally chose to blow the safes the first time, and then also accidentally blew myself up with the dynamite. Cracking them was much more rewarding.

      • The American Advertising mission with Hosea! Hilarious. Poor Arthur, he can’t set foot in a saloon without getting in fucking trouble omg.

      • Rescuing Trelawny and then going on that little job with him was really nice.

      • Playing these two rival families against each other is both interesting and incredibly stupid, and I have no doubt it will all end in tears.

      • UPDATE: I HAVE FINISHED CHAPTER THREE HOLY SHIT

  • Gameplay!

    • The settings and graphics are so gorgeous. Every time they do the cinematic travelling I’m just spamming the screenshot button. I’ll have six thousand shots of dudes on horseback in rolling countryside and I don’t even care.

    • Speaking of horses, I keep getting thrown from them because I’m a fool and cut across country and ride too fast. One time it happened when I was escorting some lady back to her home in the bayou and she fell and ran away screaming that I was the devil (after she was singing my praises a second ago) and I think it’s unfair the game doesn’t let me go and apologise! It was an accident! That’ll teach me for not using the roads I guess (^_^;)

    • Also one I got distracted by reading Arthur’s journal at a place I had just sort of robbed and then bounty hunters rode up and ambushed me because I forgot time is still passing while I use inventory and stuff. Whoops.

My hazy impression was that there was a lot of daily life type detail that some people didn't enjoy? But I don't even know if I'm remembering that correctly, unfortunately.

Oh no, an adorkable jerk with a tragic past and a heart of gold! Maybe you should tell me which tropes you have the most feelings about. For science.
