I'm trying desperately not to overthink what fandoms/ships I should offer for chocolate box, but overthinking is my middle name. The way I see it I have two options.

OPTION A
Offer only to write for fandoms and ships I'm so comfortable in that I can happily write a million words for -- knowing that I'm likely going to struggle to fill the required four fandoms and two ships each rule against the nominated tagset.

OPTION B
Offer to write for any and all fandoms and ships I'm comfortable with only because I know that I can at least meet the 300 word minimum required for this exchange -- knowing that someone might be a bit let down if they only get a tiny assignment fic.

Anyone have any opinions about this? (^_^;)

I think you should offer the fandoms you're totally comfortable with, otherwise writing can become a chore. And maybe try not to worry about the word count? If someone is disappointed by getting a shorter fic, then maybe a low-word minimum exchange like CB isn't for them?

(Or, you can do option C, what I always do: don't sign up, and write treats for the prompts that catch your eye. You don't get a treat of your own, but also the pressure is off, so...)

I second this comment! Picking highly comfortable fandoms and not worrying about word count sounds ideal to me.

I didn't know you could do that! although it does make sense now that you've said it. ...I do want to get my grubby hands on a fic present of my own though.

I am also on Team Just Write Treats For What Interests you - I've definitely done that before for other exchanges! - but if you want to participate, Option A is what I'd go for. Even though it's a 300-word minimum, I always try to pick fandoms and pairings that I'm as excited for as the recipient &heartsl
