    • Grumbling to Jack about being a bad influence on his mother for reading her a book was adorable, and then asking him what he likes reading.

    • That was a really long drive to the ranch but noticing little critters running around in the grass was cute, and the scenery was gorgeous as always.

    • Like I can't tell if I'm right but I keep thinking, does he have a different walk/run animation than Arthur? Or am I missing him so much I'm just imagining things.

    • Aahhhh riding and racing with Jack, I love them.

    • Abigail went and left :(

    • Maybe it's just me but John seems so much more mild and polite than Arthur, less salty at least.

    • So those brothers again and this time they asked me to kick them in the balls, incredible!

    • Sadie! Bad ass bounty hunter! Smiling more now too! *swoon*

    • I gave John a shave and I could hardly recognise him with short hair and a chin, he looks more like himself in part 2 at least when it's a little longer.

    • Charles! In Saint Denis!

    • Poor John having to put up with Uncle ragging on him all the time (only Arthur is allowed to do that ;__;)

    • Sadie: “It's easier with a partner.” Now I'm having John/Sadie feelings goddamn it. Especially with how fondly they were speaking to each other at the end of this mission. I just, they're so soft with each other? And now I'm like, John goes on bounty hunts with Sadie and...he loves Abigail but he has to be someone other than himself to make her happy and it's different with Sadie...

    • Wow those Skinner brothers what the fuck.

    • It was so nice doing house building together

    • Having the family back was wonderful, and taking Jack fishing was...I really like them talking to each other, is all.

    • That thing with the bear was gory as fuck as well, why they gotta leave the camera on that mauled body for so long [shudder]

    • John and Abigail’s date in town was adorable, and sweet. I did miss Arthur a lot in that theatre section, where you can get John to put his arm around Abigail, which you never manage to do with Arthur and Mary.

    • I’m...not sure I enjoyed the ending very much. I don’t know what that is. Maybe I found that last mission tedious and kind of boring. Or maybe the length and pacing of the epilogue feels a little off to me. Or maybe knowing how things end for the Marstons in RDR makes everything feel futile (watching the Pinkertons spying on the ranch during the credit scenes made me real sad).

    • Another thing that...it doesn’t bother me exactly, but I couldn’t help but think about it. I love Abigail, and I know Arthur/Sadie was never even slightly a real thing, but I can’t help but feel like Arthur/Abigail and John/Sadie might have been better for all involved. They just seem more suited for each other that way.

    • I really enjoyed the story, and there were some aspects of gameplay, especially in the latter half, that got a bit tedious. The chores. The disappearing side quest markers if I took too long to ride there. The time it took to get anywhere, and the fact that if I used the cinematic camera/fast travel trick, I could still be attacked and killed, I could still accidentally hurt someone, and if I rode past a stranger in need I could still lose honour for it. The fact that there seemed to be scripted stealth breaks any time you chose a stealth option? I’m not sure if I was just really bad at it (and I don’t think I’m that bad at stealth) but no matter how many times there was always a point that it turned into a gun fight: clearing the Murfees out of the cave, and retrieving that stolen bounty with Sadie, are the two missions I’m specifically thinking of here, but maybe there are more.

    • On the whole I loved the game, and I’m glad I bought it (though now I feel like I could have waited for it to be cheaper) but it’s probably going to be a while before I go back and get all the collectibles and side stuff, or play through the story again. I also have 4852 images now, someone take the screencap button away from me.

Salma, you can't just say something like this and leave it at that. What?

The time it took to get anywhere, and the fact that if I used the cinematic camera/fast travel trick, I could still be attacked and killed, I could still accidentally hurt someone, and if I rode past a stranger in need I could still lose honour for it.

Now I'm imagining your character just checking out and daydreaming his way through the ride up until he's abruptly very dead. Sounds like something I would do. u_u

That surely is something, Salma. I'm not sure what, but it is.
