Critical Role 2.47

- Sam's skit on the declaration of independence! One of his best nonsense ads yet. Is he really making this campaign thing a..thing? That sounds like so much fun. Talking about Matt's Witcher vision :') and his grey hair :') Frumpkin hats!
- These underwater battles are so frustrating to watch, all those disadvantages, I can't even imagine what it must be like to play. And those freaky monsters!
- I love how Travis has graduated from playing a character he could mostly leave at the sidelines of stuff, to playing to really smart ones. Not that Fjord always shows it, being a little bit more curious than is wise, probably. I wonder if the rest of the party are being a little bit heavy handed with all the "don't turn evil stuff", maybe I wish it was a more protective brand of worrying than a wary, suspicious one.
- The durian candy! Travis's face as the most precious thing I've ever seen.
- They've got ship stat sheets now! That's so cool! It gets its own initiative!!! Poor Matt, he set up these ship battle rules and Taliesen just killed it with a wave of his hand. His poor face. That tabaxi captain was pretty cool too.
- That was so sweet when they give the ship over to Orly, and he's like, I'm just looking after it for you, okay. And that conversation between Fjord and Beau before that was really touching.
- Ugh, there goes Sam breaking my heart.

Critical Role 2.48

- Sam, I don't know you do this every week. Ridiculous. Hilarious. I was waiting for it. And the comments after, I love these guys, "I thought I felt it under the table."
- Laura: Yeah, I know where to find things in Nicodranas. Matt: You never left your house. I loved that whole bit, her very pointed look at Matt the second time was so adorable.
- I love that little glimpse of something from far away. Eight hundred miles if they fly? And Caduceus has a sword from that place? How do you build something so big and rich, Matthew? Tell me your secrets.
- His voice for Rusan is so great as well, damn. I love the whole bookshop scene. Speaking of which, Liam is just breaking Matt now, asking him about books all the time. That aside about the 'Hireling' book was fucking hilarious.
- Laura's pain whenever someone doesn't haggle is still amazing.
- Oh my god, the tension during that audience with Yussa was fucking murder, and I was holding my breath when it came down to Beau's persuasion roll. I straight up cheered when he let the rest of the guys in. I can't believe they made a friend after all. He even gave them biscuits! Holy fuck, tvtropes tells me that whole thing was improvised because Matt completely forgot they were interested in that tower, what the fuck Matthew
- Jester and her mother still...give me feelings. I love them a lot. Her mom is so soft, and she went outside to say goodbye to Jester! My hearttt.
- Nicodranas trivia dragon interlude was amazing.
- The conversation between Caleb and Beau was fucking intense holy shit. I have a lot of feelings about characters thinking they're not allowed to care about people, ouch.
- That whole last hour was painful. I had actual, physical anxiety pain. Fuck.

Critical Role 2.49
watched 10 - 11 March
- "You ran and got help, and here we are." That's such a beautiful thing to say, and of course Taliesin is the one who says it.
- I don't seem to have anything comment worthy to say for the whole first half, if I wasn't too transfixed by all the happenings to make notes, I was too busy laughing at all the terrible asides.
- I think they're oddly fixed on the notion that it was the Cerberus Assembly that took Yeza, which, for one, why would they snatch him like that when he was already doing their work, and why would they leave their research notes behind if they were taking their alchemist away? Second of all, the crick came looking for their beacon -- same as they had in Zadash, if I recall -- found someone experimenting on it, and grabbed him for the crime? The simplest explanation, no?
- Okay, Liam stealing Sam's chocolate bar like that was the most adorable thing I've ever seen in this whole game?
- Ah, come on, why didn't they show the map on camera when Matt was explaining where the warfront was.
- That was the most mood whiplash episode of Critical Role that I've ever watched I think. Going from stressed to laughing every five seconds what the hell guys please. A good episode all round though, I find info dump/big reveal episodes a bit hit-and-miss but I love lore heavy episodes, and we definitely learned so much about the characters and the world.

This makes me so happy. Even the great Matt Mercer can be caught off guard! Long live improvisation!
